Pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time (1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm)

CNC Machinist/Machine Operator wanted! Gear Motions – Nixon Gear Division in Syracuse, NY is hiring a skilled CNC Machinist/Machine Operator to join our team. This position offers competitive pay, employee ownership through ESOP, and the opportunity to work with precision CNC equipment in an ISO 9000 certified facility. Candidates with experience in Mazatrol and Fanuc controllers are highly preferred.

CNC Machinist/Machine Operator Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and run CNC lathes and CNC mills to manufacture precision gears to specification.
  • Interpret and utilize engineering drawings to ensure machining accuracy.
  • Assist in developing machining processes and problem-solving for turning/milling operations.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to manage approved tooling inventory.
  • Communicate with outside vendors and internal teams to drive process improvements.
  • Evaluate and verify product processes to meet quality standards.

CNC Machinist/Machine Operator Requirements

  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience required.
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol and Fanuc controllers preferred.
  • Knowledge of close tolerances, ISO, and SPC processes helpful.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Syracuse, NY location.
