We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join Gear Motions – Nixon Gear Division in Syracuse, NY. This exciting role offers a competitive salary, employee ownership, and excellent benefits. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will coordinate and manage engineering projects from concept through production, focusing on process development, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer Role
- Analyze customer specifications to develop cost-effective manufacturing processes.
- Create internal process drawings to meet technical and quality standards.
- Provide guidance to Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Customer Service teams.
- Support production with CNC programming, operator training, and blueprint reading.
- Design and qualify tooling to optimize production efficiency.
- Develop CNC programs and collaborate with vendors to ensure product compliance.
- Assist with estimating cycle times and costs for Sales Engineering.
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects and cost reduction initiatives.
- Assist with new equipment design, installation, and implementation.
- Maintain and upgrade ISO-related documentation and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
- 5–7 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a machining environment (or equivalent).
- Ability to relocate to Syracuse, NY, if not currently local.
