Location: Auto Gear, Syracuse, NY
Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time (1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm)

Transmission Technician wanted! Gear Motions Auto Gear Division in Syracuse, NY is seeking a skilled Transmission Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on position where you will rebuild and maintain high-performance transmissions while ensuring quality standards in our ISO 9000 certified facility.

Transmission Technician Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete transmission overhauls and rebuilds, including disassembly, inspection, part replacement, and reassembly.
  • Use shop equipment, pneumatic press, arbor press, and repair tools to ensure precision work.
  • Maintain and service Muncie 4-speed based transmissions, with a focus on race units.
  • Safely lift parts up to 50 lbs and operate manual pallet jacks.
  • Assist customers in determining their transmission needs and deliver custom-built solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and quality requirements.

Transmission Technician Requirements

  • Experience with transmission rebuilding and mechanical repair.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Syracuse, NY facility.
