On Friday March 20, 2020, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo revised Executive Order 202.6 directing that all non-essential businesses statewide must close in-office personnel functions effective at 8pm on Sunday, March 22. After review of the Governor’s Executive Order and designation of Essential Businesses, Gear Motions is deemed an Essential Business and exempt from the Executive Order. We will continue manufacturing operations at all its New York locations.
 
Gear Motions does not provide an end product to the market but is a vital link in the supply chain supporting those companies essential to meet the needs in this crisis. Gear Motions supplies product used in medical equipment, food processing, power generation, transportation, aerospace/defense, and construction. Without the products produced by Gear Motions, these essential businesses cannot meet their needs during this crisis.
 
We take the health and safety of our employees as our highest priority and have instituted new measures to assure their protection while within the facility. We have taken steps to prohibit visitors, implemented social distancing, and increased attention to cleaning and disinfecting at the facilities. We have shifted all non-essential office personnel to remote work and are adjusting staffing to balance shift sizes. We continue to monitor directives from the CDC and we will continue to comply with the guidance and directives for maintaining a clean and safe work environment issued by the Department of Health.
 
During this time of crisis, the employee-owners of Gear Motions will strive to meet the needs of our fellow employee owners, customers, and suppliers. We will do this with open and honest communications. As the current situation is rapidly evolving, we will update information as needed. We ask for everyone’s help in this journey and the fight against the Covid-19 virus.
